Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use ems42, also with a screen reader, with the keyboard only, with magnification or another input. This statement says how far we are.

Status

ems42 partially conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. This is our own assessment; no external audit has been done yet.

What we do

  • Every page has a language (Dutch or English), headings in the right order and forms with labels.
  • Everything works with the keyboard; the focus is visible.
  • Colours have enough contrast, in the light and the dark look.
  • Next to the charts, the main figures are also given as text, and the energy flow comes with a sentence saying what happens.
  • If you ask for less motion (a setting of your device), you get less animation.

What does not work well yet

  • The charts of use and prices per hour have no full table as an alternative yet: with a screen reader you get the totals and the cheapest hours, not each hour separately.
  • In the price chart the cheapest hours are green; the hours are also given as text, but not with each bar.
  • The energy flow moves; stopping it is not possible yet, except through your device's setting for less motion.
  • The screensaver photos in tablet mode have no description; they are decoration only.

We are fixing these points and will update this statement then.
